Current Openings:

Software Engineer

Responsible for designing, modifying, developing and testing TCG’s Tactical Communications Manager (TCM) software applications. Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software. Works independently under pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepares and installs solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming
  • Determines operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions
  • Modifying existing software and troubleshooting issues
  • Help maintain code quality, organization, and documentation
Required Skills/Experience:
  • Java/C++, C# or other relevant object oriented programming development in Windows environments
  • Object-oriented design and programming
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to focus on and complete tasks with attention to detail and organization
  • U.S. Citizen (for clearance)
  • BSCS or equivalent
Highly Desired Skills/Experience:
  • 5+ years software development (design & programming) experience
  • MS Visual Studio
  • Eclipse
  • Experience developing mission critical software applications
  • Experience with machine to machine middleware, especially Data Distribution Service (DDS)
  • Experience with TCP/IP, UDP, Sockets
Also Desired:
  • Experience implementing C++ POSIX compliant framework such as Boost, ACE, POCO

Location:

This position will be based in TCG’s Tewksbury, MA office and reports to one of TCG’s Lead Software Engineers.

Electrical Engineer

The ideal candidate will design, document, and fabricate solutions for TCG’s tactical data link radio interfaces. Currently, Link 16 radios dominate TCG’s radio interface solutions; it is foreseeable that TCG will provide interface solutions to other radios as well. In addition to design, this position requires the engineer to provide manufacturing guidance in the introduction of new radio interface solutions, or for the improvement of existing solutions. Examples of potential improvements include hardening TCG’s current solutions and ensuring TEMPEST compliance.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Design and fabricate radio support equipment (e.g. Link 16 Terminal Housing Cases)
  •  Maintain design documentation for current and new product launches
  • Participate in the selection of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluate products according to TCG’s specifications and quality standards
  • Oversee fabrication of outsourced equipment
  • Work with Engineering Department to integrate quality control procedures
  • Work with Engineering, Configuration Management, and Purchasing departments to ensure all product and system requirements are adhered to, from the initial product conception to the finished product
  • Local travel estimate is one off-site integration per month
  • 2-3 trips (one week each) CONUS per year
Required Skills/Experience:
  • 2+ Years experience working on all stages of product development
  • Experience with system-level design including circuit design, mechanical design, system bring-up, integration, and debug
  • Must be creative, inquisitive, analytical, and detail oriented with a mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • Strong communication and documentation skills and ability to operate autonomously
  • Recommends and implements improvements to equipment
  • Able to manage multiple projects at one time
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to focus on and complete multiple tasks with attention to detail and organization
  • U.S. Citizen (for clearance)
  • BSEE/BSME or equivalent related education
Highly Desired Skills/Experience:
  • System, process or procedures knowledge desired
  • Working with processor architecture, digital circuit design and various communications protocols such as I2C, UART, SPI, USB, MIPI, I2S, etc.
  • Familiarity with firmware development for 8-bit and 32-bit Atmel, TI, Microchip, NXP, or any ARM microcontroller
  • Experience with SPICE modeling software such as LTSpice, Multisim, etc
  • Experience analog circuit design
  • Partnering with software teams to define and implement firmware, drivers and algorithms
  • Knowledge of at least one major CAD software tool
  • Knowledge of Circuit Board Design
  • Knowledge of Circuit Board Schematic Generation
  • Knowledge of manufacturing workmanship standards
  • Knowledge of basic AC circuits • Familiarity with design codes (IEEE, NEMA, UL, NEC, and/or ANSI, PCBs and FCC standards for circuits)
  • Experience with wire harness manufacturing & engineering a plus – cable and harness design, harness builds, fit checks, pull tests, failure investigations
Also Desired:
  • TDL, industry experience
  • Demonstrated technical writing and presentation skills
Location:

This position will be based in TCG’s Tewksbury, MA office and reports to TCG’s Product Test Manager.
