Current Openings:

Software Engineer

Responsible for designing, modifying, developing and testing TCG’s Tactical Communications Manager (TCM) software applications. Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software. Works independently under pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepares and installs solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming
  • Determines operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions
  • Modifying existing software and troubleshooting issues
  • Help maintain code quality, organization, and documentation
Required Skills/Experience:
  • Java/C++, C# or other relevant object oriented programming development in Windows environments
  • Object-oriented design and programming
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to focus on and complete tasks with attention to detail and organization
  • U.S. Citizen (for clearance)
  • BSCS or equivalent
Highly Desired Skills/Experience:
  • 5+ years software development (design & programming) experience
  • MS Visual Studio
  • Eclipse
  • Experience developing mission critical software applications
  • Experience with machine to machine middleware, especially Data Distribution Service (DDS)
  • Experience with TCP/IP, UDP, Sockets
Also Desired:
  • Experience implementing C++ POSIX compliant framework such as Boost, ACE, POCO
  • Experience developing GUI software for Windows or Java
  • Development in Linux environment
  • Experience with full lifecycle of the software engineering process including functional specification, design, implementation, and testing
  • Data Link operational or programming experience
Location:

This position will be based in TCG’s Tewksbury, MA office and reports to one of TCG’s Lead Software Engineers.

Purchasing Specialist

The candidate in this role will have previous accounts payable and buying experience preferably with Microsoft Dynamics NAV, and be a team player who is very detail oriented. Responsible for locating vendors of materials, equipment and supplies and negotiate with them to determine product availability and terms of sales. Position will be responsible for the processing of all approved requisitions, expediting orders as needed, recording receipts, accounts payable coding, and responsible for fielding vendor inquiries. This person must be able to thrive in a fast pace environment, be motivated, reliable and dedicated to their work product. The successful candidate will be a problem solver who can work well with others within the organization as well as outside vendors. Must have proven ability to maintain precise records. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Purchase the highest quality materials and services at the lowest possible prices
  • Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment and submit to vendors
  • Monitor shipments to ensure timely receipt of both quantity and quality
  • In the event of problems, trace shipments and follow up
  • Proactively interface with appropriate staff on purchases with problems and assist with corrective action
  • Evaluate and monitor vendor service contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and make recommendations for change
  • Responds quickly to questions regarding payment status from all stakeholders, both internal and external, and resolves discrepancies quickly
  • Creates, updates, and maintains vendor directory. Including review of tax withholding requirements, verification of vendor information and issuing related tax forms in compliance with IRS regulations
  • Receive and review vendor invoices and investigate and resolve any discrepancies through communication with vendors as needed
  • Maintains and reviews all records of purchased goods, including their costs, deliveries and inventories – this can be high volume at times
  • Ensures that the appropriate level of inventory is maintained to support current and future/anticipated job obligations are met
  • Processes internally generated purchase requests and sources vendors
  • Coordinate with IT department on all office equipment procurement and servicing
  • Adhere to set purchasing procedures
  • Responsible for reporting and processing of Use Tax payments
  • Maintains inventory reconciliation
Required Skills/Experience:
  • Proven ability to establish good working relationships with diverse vendors and service providers
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including tact, diplomacy, and a high degree of confidentiality
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication and administration skills including strong proficiency with Microsoft Office software
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive in dealing with issues that may arise
  • Bachelor’s Degree or 3+ years of relevant experience
Highly Desired Skills/Experience:
  • Microsoft Dynamics NAV experience highly desired
  • Knowledge of key accounting principles and procedures
  • Previous experience in a technical or engineering environment is desired
  • Must be able to work under pressure and within tight deadlines in a fast paced environment
