Associate Systems Integration and Test Engineer

This position is responsible for development and execution of detailed, requirements based software (integration) tests on TCM software. Individual must be able to conduct complex regression tests for advanced, Department of Defense tactical communication data link systems. Works with TCG’s Engineering teams to resolve issues found during testing.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Analyze detailed software requirements and design documents and develop top level Test Plan/Approach documentation for qualification of new software features/components
  • Based on detailed requirements and design documents and test plan, develops detailed system state and expected system output as test criteria
  • Develop cross reference matrix and maintain traceability of test procedures steps to the specified requirement
  • Works independently during qualification cycles by closing assigned problem reports, identifying and reporting new problems, conduction formal qualification, and running assigned regression tests
  • Applies complex test tools such as the PASS 3200, Wireshark, AltaView, CoPilot as required to support testing
  • Reviews TCG requirements, design, acceptance test plan, and acceptance test procedure documents
  • Participates in the development and review of TCG’s Engineering documentation
  • Assists with resolution of system issues and problems reported by TCG’s customers
  • Assists with duplication and test of Tech Support issues and STARs
  • Must be able to perform function under minimal supervision/ direction
Required skills/experience:
  • 2+ years software integration and test experience or relevant experience (military tactical data link system experience)
  • Ability to evaluate the function, performance, and usability/suitability of integrated software components
  • Development and execution of repeatable subsystem and system level tests
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to focus on and complete multiple tasks with attention to detail and organization
  • U.S. Citizen (for clearance)
  • BSCS or related education
Highly desired skills/experience:
  • Experience with both Windows and Linux target environments
  • Experience with analysis tools such as military communications bus protocol analyzers, Ethernet packet capture tools and development of test tools to aid in data analysis
  • Excellent technical documentation skills highly desired
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a structured (CMMI) team environment
Also desired:
  • Demonstrated technical writing and presentation skills
  • Experience with full lifecycle of the software engineering process including functional specification, design, implementation, and testing is desirable
  • Willingness to travel to customer locations approximately 10%
Location:

This position will be based in TCG’s Tewksbury, MA office and reports to TCG’s Product Test Manager.

Candidate must possess or be able to obtain a US Security Clearance.

Software Engineer

Responsible for designing, modifying, developing and testing TCG’s Tactical Communications Manager (TCM) software applications. Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software. Works independently under pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.

Job Duties:
  • Prepares and installs solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming
  • Determines operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions
  • Modifying existing software and troubleshooting issues
  • Help maintain code quality, organization, and documentation
Required Skills/Experience:
  • Java/C++ development in Windows environments
  • Object-oriented design and programming
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to focus on and complete tasks with attention to detail and organization
  • U.S. Citizen (for clearance)
  • BSCS or equivalent
Highly Desired Skills/Experience:
  • 5+ years software development (design & programming) experience
  • MS Visual Studio 2008/2010
  • Development in Linux environment
  • Eclipse
  • Experience developing mission critical software applications
  • Experience with TCP/IP, UDP, Sockets
Also Desired:
  • Experience implementing C++ POSIX compliant framework such as Boost, ACE, POCO
  • Experience developing GUI software for Windows or Java
  • Experience with SQL databases
  • Experience with full lifecycle of the software engineering process including functional specification, design, implementation, and testing
  • Experience with machine to machine middleware, especially Data Distribution Service (DDS)
  • Data Link operational or programming experience
Location:

This position will be based in TCG’s Tewksbury, MA office and reports to one of TCG’s Lead Software Engineers.
